Sonoma County Child Support Modification Attorney-
Serving the North Bay
When a divorce is made final, it can formalize a new chapter in a person's life. Practically speaking, your divorce order will govern many areas of your life and your children's lives. It is not uncommon for people to realize in the years following their divorce that the conditions of their original divorce agreement no longer reflect the realities of their lives.
If you need to change your spousal support, child support or child custody arrangements, a lawyer can be instrumental in helping you make these changes. I am attorney Anthony Zunino. I am knowledgeable and experienced in assisting people throughout Sonoma County and beyond modify their divorce agreements.
Modifying Existing Agreements due to Life's Changes
Under California law, in order to make a change to a divorce agreement, it is necessary to show a "substantial change in circumstances." For instance, if one parent loses his or her job, receives a major increase (or decrease) in pay, or develops a serious health problem, it may be necessary to modify child support, custody or spousal support arrangements. Any change to custody must reflect the best interests of the child. I represent spouses on either side of this issue and can persuasively demonstrate your position to the judge.
One of the most difficult challenges after a divorce is when the parent with primary physical custody wants to relocate with the children. Whether you wish to move with your children or you oppose such a move, I can advise you of your options and help you accomplish your objectives.
