I am Anthony Zunino of the Law Offices of Anthony Zunino in Santa Rosa. I believe strongly in the power of mediation to help families reach agreements to serious problems. While a need for mediation arises primarily in divorce, it can be useful in a wide range of family disputes, including:

Many family disputes are the result of personal conflicts that have steadily escalated. While the contentious nature of litigation can damage family relationships, mediation can facilitate conversation and clarity in a neutral setting, which allows for the possibility of repairing relations between family members.
Mediation offers a number of advantages that are simply not available in litigation. Most important, in mediation you and your family will take part in crafting an agreement that works for everyone. As a result, you and your family members are more likely to comply with the eventual agreement. Mediation offers a higher degree of certainty to the parties, since you will not be leaving your case in the hands of an impartial judge. Further, mediation tends to be less expensive than litigation. It often seems that the only people who "win" in litigation are the attorneys. Mediation can help both parties achieve a victory.
As your mediator, I will be fair and neutral. My primary goal will be to help all parties see eye-to-eye and arrive at a satisfactory result. I may explain the advantages or disadvantages of a course of action or suggest alternatives, but I will be committed to helping the parties resolve the issues on their own.
